Being a new Toronto resident can be intimidating. Please see some resources below to help ease the transition into life in Toronto.
Transportation
There are many ways to get around and across the city – streetcars, subways, buses and commuter trains.

In Toronto, major natural gas and electricity providers are regulated, whereas smaller companies offer a “fixed-rate” service.
Tenant’s insurance (https://www.ibc.ca/on/) is purchased by renters in Canada, to insure their belongings and cover them for liability. Tenant’s insurance can be purchased through a bank or an insurance broker.
It’s important to know your rights as a tenant in Toronto. There are several organizations that can provide you with guidance and advice if you have issues as a renter.
