Our goal is to develop cutting-edge radiochemistry methods and apply these to discover new PET imaging agents for brain health.

These new imaging agents will enable us to better understand several mental illnesses and other brain diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, depression, autism spectrum disorders, substance use and addictions challenges, Parkinson’s disease and brain cancers, as well as traumatic brain injuries. Ultimately, our aim is to establish new chemistry methods to radiolabel virtually any molecule for PET imaging.

We are committed to training the next generation of radiochemists and imaging scientists at all levels, from faculty to students.

The critical investment provided through the generosity of the Azrieli Foundation will enable us to push both brain imaging and radiochemistry to the next level and to further advance CAMH as a leader in these fields.
