These posters were first developed as part of our effort to help hospitals become more comfortable supporting people with developmental disabilities. Staff in the hospitals thought they were helpful reminders about who the people were that they were supporting, but we also learned that people with disabilities liked seeing the posters when they went to health care settings. As it says in the posters, they remind health care providers to "Get to know me. I am more than my disability.

This campaign is one way to encourage people with disabilities to introduce themselves to health care providers.
